Purdue Varsity Glee Club

Auckland Youth Choir hosts the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, directed by Dr William Griffel, on the Auckland leg of their Australia / New Zealand tour. The group will present an engaging programme with music from a variety of styles including sacred, secular, jazz, barbershop, pop and rock. Auckland Youth Choir will perform a short bracket and both ensembles will join forces to close the performance with a massed item.  Tickets are free but registration is essential.

With integrity, passion, unparalleled showmanship and attention to every detail, the members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club have proudly served as ambassadors of Purdue University, Indiana with honour and dignity for more than 125 years. Founded in 1893, this select ensemble has entertained on behalf of Purdue University for campus, community, state, national and international events, averaging around 50 appearances each year.  Embodying the spirit of service above self, the members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club represent different backgrounds and hometowns across the United States, consistently maintaining a high level of academic excellence with majors ranging from engineering to education to management to biological sciences.
