What level of commitment is expected?
Anyone aged 16-27. The choir is made up of university and tertiary students, senior secondary school students, and young people in the workforce. ​
The full choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:30-9pm at Kohia Terrace School in Epsom. The Chamber Singers rehearse from 6:30pm.
The rehearsal schedule is based around the university calendar, with rehearsals from February to mid-October. We don't rehearse during university exam periods.
Nope! You are invited to come along to our two "no obligations" rehearsals to see what we're all about. We'll then check how you’re doing, whether you’re in the right voice part, and whether you would like to become a member of the choir.
The Chamber Singers are a smaller, auditioned group drawn from the full choir. The ensemble is for confident readers interested in singing more demanding music in a smaller group. Auditions for the Chamber Singers are held at the beginning of each year.
Singers are expected to commit to the choir for the full year (February-October) and attend all rehearsals and performances.
